I was upgrading CPU and something broke......

#1 Post by teladoy » Mon May 24, 2010 10:38 pm

I was upgrading CPU and something broke I don't know what it is.
The fan cable was to hard to pull out, so I grab a twister and pull and i broke out, but then I realize that what I pull was not the fan cable but the other a one like a little drum with a "10CE" written on it is black.
i hope you understand it is hard to explain.
But the machine works I push the part back but I am sure is not OK because the part that is soldered is the one the broke the plastic is part is OK.
Can anybody tell me what it is I brake.
I also broke the fan cable but I push it in and got to work that is my next question at lease I know what that is.
But the little cylinder I don't know what it does help please.
Oh this is a R60 9457-Y1R

The best thing you can do is post a link to a picture of what broke. If you don't have access to a free photo sharing service (photobucket.com, flickr.com, imageshack.us) or your own web site, then email the photo to me and I'll put it up on my site. My email is my rkawakami at yahoo dot com.

I'm going to guess it's the IEEE1394 cable (Firewire) connector. If you don't use Firewire or don't plan to, then don't worry about it.

Harryc I hope you are right, which all point that you are, because the location of the cylinder is about between the sound and the ethernet and both working and this machine have no Firewire and like I say before it is working correctible.
Thank you

That looks like the connector with a "Y" cable. 1 leg goes to the modem and the other leg goes to the docking station port to drive the modem connector on the dock.
