Z60m friction pad on bottom

#1 Post by rajm » Tue Jun 01, 2010 3:18 pm

One of the four friction pads from the bottom of my Z60m is missing. This makes the machine wobble on my desk and transfer vibrations onto the wood surface. Is there a part number for these pads so I can a replacement?

Any time I've seen these as order-able items from Lenovo they come in a kit along with other base parts, and the kit is much more than you'd want to pay for just a rubber pad. Sometimes you can find them on EBay. You would be better of getting larger feet and cutting them to size and replace all (4). Any rubber will do really, as long as the thickness is similar. Just cut to size and glue.

For a Z60M , the feet come in a kit, FRU# 26R9577
It is listed in the system parts list at the bottom.

Another option is to get a used or damaged Z60M base. It is a rare machine to find used parts for though...good luck.

PM me with the one you need (front or rear), I have a spare/cracked Z61m base and I'll pop one in the mail to you.

Thank you for the replies. With the part number in hand I called Lenovo (my unit is still under warranty) and they are shipping me out a new set. I wasn't sure if parts like these would be covered but it appears they are.

Thank you again for all your help and thank you underclocker for your generosity!
