funky on screen display for volume

#1 Post by charlienyc » Mon Jun 07, 2010 10:17 pm

hi, i'm having a similar problem to losing my OSD for volume control as in this thread: http://www.thinkpads.com/forum/viewtopi ... =5&t=54487
however, the volume does show - just stays at 0, whether muted or unmuted. if i increase the volume with either the hotkeys or the physical buttons on the laptop, the number remains at zero.

i'm running Win XP Pro SP2 on my R61 8932-CTO. i just updated my hotkey drivers and a few other things at the ibm/lenovo support site, and frequently run windows update as well as the registry cleaner in ccleaner. any ideas what to try?
