A31P mobo/ thermal pad replacement

Hi,
While searching for a replacement board for my A31P 2653-H3U I inquired about what "with security" meant in the description (IBM ThinkPad A31p 15" Mother Board FRU 26P8232 Type 2653 with security). The response was "Security means that the motherboard can not be removed from the case bottom. If it is removed, the motherboard will no longer function.". Can anyone explain this to me. I am also looking for a supplier for the thermal pad material.

With security means that there is a security chip on the board. The implications of that are explained in the hardware maintenance manual under systemboard removal.
