r50e Base Cover FRU Compatibility

Hi!

As with most R50 machines, my R50e (1834-TA6) had plastic bits that chipped off at the rear left corner (near the LCD hinge), and at the front right palm rest.

I was looking at replacing the base cover assembly, and browsed the Lenovo HMM for a part number. The closest I could see is FRU 26R8624 (14", 1834 based machine). The HMM lists a host of suffixes for this FRU - but none with "TA6 or TA x" for that matter.

Would anyone know if there are known issues if I decide to get this FRU even if it does not list my suffix? I also found another r50e/14" base cover on Ebay listed as FRU 26R7903. However, this particular FRU is not listed on the Lenovo HMM (file name: 39t2462_01.pdf). This second FRU was on sale - and I was wondering if this would fit my machine, too.

I'd be very grateful is someone can point me to the right direction.

To the best of my knowledge you only need to worry about the size of the base cover and not the FRU. So if you order 'any' base cover for a 14" R50e it will fit.
