New Wireless Card Heats Entire System

#1 Post by hunterman223 » Sun Jul 11, 2010 7:26 pm

My new Mini-PCI wireless card seems to be very hot. It heats up the keyboard and the fan seems to be running a lot more. It is a Philips card, listed by IBM as 11A/B/G Wireless LAN Mini PCI Adapter. In the advanced driver menu, I have set power save mode to maximum, with no problems, other than the fact that it has had no effect. I also have the option of changing the transmit power from it's default of 50mw. Is there anything I can do? Thanks.
