POP password appeard after cmos battery removal (R51)

#1 Post by aquasonic » Wed Jul 21, 2010 11:02 pm

Hello again! After having some issues with my R51 i decided to remove the cmos battery just in case... but now i am stuck with another problem. When it boots, with F1 (or access ibm button) or normaly, it will ask me for a power on password. This is weird, since it never asked me before. The motherboard is bought from ebay. removing again the battery won't help. Any suggestions?

If you don't know the password the system board will need replacement. We won't allow any discussion here on how to defeat security passwords.
