different BIOS to use on R61i

#1 Post by think-r61i » Mon Sep 06, 2010 11:56 am

Dear All,

I updated my current Thinkpad R61i to the latest BIOS to reach maximum compatibility with an OS86X installation of Snow Leopard 10.6.4. While that works fine, in principle, it has lost the modded BIOS capability to recognize my internal WLAN card, Broadcom Gigabyte GN-WI01GT (Air Cruizer Mach G) in the PCI-Express slot. Hence, I get the common error 1802 due to the non-whitelisted miniPCI-e card.

Earlier, I used a modded BIOS (7luj19uc.iso) which, I believe, was written for a Thinkpad T-series. When trying to revert to this older version on my R61i the installation refuses claiming a wrong start-up BIOS.

Can anyone suggest a way how to revert to the older BIOS (7luj19uc.iso) which, before upgrading to most recent 'genuine' BIOS for the R61i, would recognize the above non-whitelisted WLAN card?

Thanks a lot in advance!
