I got a harddrive yesterday from newegg and I cloned it, I had backup files on another harddrive so I decided to copy them and leave it running over night, in the morning I noticed my laptop was stuck on the log on screen on full bright now the computer is sort of sluggish I am wondering if its a video card or harddrive issue I ran all tests and everything came back normal. I even defraged it already.

Perhaps you could put the old hard drive back to see if it works.

The DPC Latency checker has pretty high yellow bars, I am thinking if its the harddrive and the video card though all tests come back normal, the checker shows spikes. I never had any spikes until that day it had stayed frozen for a couple of hours after I fell asleep.

Hi okay I switched back to the stock harddrive and the dpc spikes are still pretty high, I am sending back the harddrive to newegg than i have to talk to Lenovo I might have to get the board replaced. The Nvidia NVS 140M tests come back normal but now when I try to play anything that has 3D chugs the computer down but 2d works fine.

I am really mad Lenovo is giving the run around on fixing my laptop, I heard they have at least 50 orders back tracked because non are available here or Canada one of the support guys had told me there were some issues but he couldnt really tell me but involved the video card. He had told me to call the next day to demand to speak to a supervisor to explain my situation to maybe get a free current laptop. I called but they didnt let me talk to one. I dont know what to do other than maybe switch brands Can anyone help me? I still have 1 year of warrenty.

I usually find polite, but firm and persistent gets the best results. Don't take no for an answer. If you get a bad or stubborn rep, try calling back. Perhaps the next will be better. If you run out of options you might want to contact Mark@Lenovo.com. I don't know if he's got an account here, I would suspect yes, but you're probably better off doing it at the Lenovo forums. He's usually pretty good at cutting through the red tape and getting answers, even if it's not what you're looking to hear. If the machine is still under warranty it should be fixed in my opinion, which probably doesn't hold much weight at Lenovo. Good Luck.

Hi they finally fixed my laptop one month 1 week later I have mix feelings but what can I say I like Thinkpads I dont see myself going to another brand.
