R61e BSOD
R61e BSOD
I have a R61e running Windows XP SP3. The last 3 or 4 times I have tried to turn it off I get the BSOD. I have scanned for viruses, removed the one new program that I had (Picasa), checked for updates, and ran error checking on the hard drive. What else can I do?

Re: R61e BSOD
Go to Satrt/Settings/Control Panel and dbleclick on System.
On the Advanced tab, click on Startup and Recovery Settings.
On the next page, UNtick "Automatically restart".
Click OK till you are out of it.
Next time with BSOD, write down the error message and post that.

usbhub.sys
Do you need the numbers as well? I do have a usb hub connected however I also have a bluetooth adapter connected. Along with most of the time a usb mouse. I have checked for updates for the usb hub and there are none.

Re: R61e BSOD
We need the error number and text, looks like e.g.: *** Fatal System Error: 0x0000007b INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE and if available the file name (usbhub.sys in your case)..
The error number (like 7b) can be traced easily here: http://aumha.org/a/stop.htm

***STOP: 0x0000007E (0xc0000005, 0x00000000, 0xBA4FF958, 0xBA4FF654)
This time it did not show the usbhub.sys though.

Re: R61e BSOD
Remove the USB hub and see if the error goes away.
