How does one get ThinkPad support?

#1 Post by titanik » Wed Nov 17, 2010 7:57 pm

ThinkVantage suggested some system updates. I ran them and now my laptop is almost useless. I called Lenovo at (800) 426-7378 but, because I am out of warranty, they won't help me even if I pay. Please, does anyone have advice?

Rather than whine, describe your problems here.
I'm sure someone will have had the same problems and come up with a solution.
There's also a very good search function on the forum here: http://www.google.com/advanced_search?q ... as_qdr=all

1) Thanks but I didn't whine. I stated the problem and asked for leads so that I may resolve it.

2) I posted the issue two days ago... ThinkVantage system updates disabled features. Before posting, I did search for solutions. I finally solved it this afternoon but my question remains. If I don't have two days next time, is there a resource? Lenovo flat out refused to offer support unless I shipped them my laptop and even then would not quote a price.

You can add post warranty service if you like. See here.

•Please note: These post-warranty service upgrades apply only if machines are normally used for business, professional, or trade, rather than personal, family, or household purposes.
