r40e died

i have a thinkpad r40e .....my hardrive is died....i have a new 320gb hardrive i want to install....my question is from what i have read.....i dont have to buy a new os....i just need to buy a recover disc(which i dont have)....am i correct?

Yes that is correct. Try posting a WTB Ad in our Marketplace forum for recovery CD's.

cool ill try that and ebay....after i see how much it is brand new...which is my next question....what website would i go to buythe cd..

Get the part # and call 1-800-426-7378 to order it. Last I heard Lenovo charges $50 for a set. Expect to pay half of that or less on the forum if someone has a set.
