I have a strange issue with my R51 standby and hibernate mode. If I put the notebook into standby mode and resume it, the system goes to standby immediately. After resuming from the standby second time, the system behaves fine. The same behaviour occurs with hibernation. I tried to update the Power Schemes, updated all the drivers with Thinkpad Software Installer and did Windows Update. It defeats the purpose of using hibernation if I have to do it twice to get it work.
Any ideas on how to fix it?
Thanks
Standby/Hibernate issue - weird
Hibernate and Standby issues...
I have the same problems with my A31p's (both XPP and 2000) when I have updated via MICROSOFT and the IBM website. I have yet to determine exactly what latest/greatest is the culprit, but if I restore to the original (out-of-the-box) IBM configuration, the problem disappears.

If you are still watching this thread, my R40 has the same problem. I found a work around. Uninstall the "Power Management Driver for Windows". Use either the add/remove programs from control panel or the IBM Software installer to remove. The drawback is that you lose the use of Fn+ F3, F5, F12. Fn+ F4 still works though. I really would like to use the Fn+ F4 key though..
