usb transplant

#1 Post by jhbates3 » Mon Apr 18, 2011 10:05 am

One quick question, I have two a31 laptops. One has a good motherboard with a broken usb port. The other has a bad motherboard but the usb ports look fine. My question is can I solder the good usb ports onto the good motherboard?

If you have the right soldering equipment, yes.

I had to do this recently on my R40. Take your time and use a 'solder sucker' instead of the copper braid tape. Don't overheat the pins and work quickly between the iron and vacuum.
