R51p- some keys not working

#1 Post by geoffs » Mon May 09, 2011 11:31 pm

I fired up the much neglected R51p yesterday to try out a wireless broadband modem and foud that some keys were not responding.
The keys in questions are:

r t f g v b

A USb keyboard works fine but is not exactly convenient.
Sound like a keyboard problem or some unerlying controller? If it's just a keyboard then I'll repair/replace otherwise ...

It does sound like a keyboard problem.

Try cleaning it with compressed air and reseating it, should that yield no results replace it.

BTW is that machine a R50p or R51...not that it matters for this particular discussion...but there never was a R51p...

I thought that might have been the case but the laptop is on a lower shelf and I was just too bloody lazy to bend over and check :D
