internal wlan upgrade for r32

#1 Post by glotzi » Sat Apr 02, 2005 6:59 pm

hello,

finally i have received my r32 which i had bought at ebay :-)

for me, it is a great notebook at a reasonable price (i'm a student).

i have found out that the mini-pci slot is still available. for this reaseon, i think that the modem is on the cdc.

i also have disassembled the keyboard and found that my r32 does not have the internal "main" and "auxiliary" wlan antennas (what a pity)...

i would like to upgrade to an internal mini pci wlan (54mbit would be the best).

which mini-pci cards can i use? i have read something about cards that are rejected by the bios. my r32 does not have the security chip.

and where can i get the two needed antennas? and how to install them?

i would like to thank you in advance!

regards

glotzi

btw.: a great great forum!

Follow flatdraft's instruction, the R-model should be similar:
