R50 Flexview 1400x1050 and latest 8.06xxx ATI driver problem

#1 Post by rockhard1972 » Tue Apr 05, 2005 8:59 am

Hi,

I've just updated my video driver from the 8.054 version to the latest 8.06xx and have found that now my display will not fill the whole of the screen, leaving a 2cm black unfilled area at the sides and just under 1cm at the bottom and top when run at 1280x1024. If I try to run at the native 1400x1050 its like running at a resolution the display cannot handle as you have to take the cursor to the edge of the screen to scroll it to view.
I've tried playing with the scaling option, both in the bios and windows advanced display properties. Tried uninstalling the TFT's driver and reverting to generic display.
Would be grateful if anyone else who has come across this problem would be kind enough to offer me any advice on what may be the cause of this?
After having installed the drivers by the book uninstalling the old, using ATI's remover to ensure no remains, then install new I am currently thinking these drivers are broke for Flexview users or I am a dumb@ss

Cheers,

Chris

Sounds like your monitor is set to the wrong thing. Make sure it says IBM ThinkPad 1400x1050 LCD display, or something along those lines. It's in the advanced display properties.
