A31 no video on LCD

#1 Post by Unknown_K » Sat Oct 15, 2011 6:23 pm

I got an A31 with no video on the LCD (backlight works fine, external video works fine). I checked the video cable on the LCD end and it is in correctly. Is this an issue with the video chip or should I open up the thing and check the cable on the motherboard? I have a T30 with video corruption on the LCD (shows crap and then nothing), just havn't seen one that doesn't display anything at all yet.

It could be a bad connection, although the prime suspect in my book would be a blown fuse.

It could also be that the LCD (digital) output is blown on the GPU while the VGA one (analog) is still working.

Check the connection as originally intended and report back.

Good luck.

I checked the internal connection, there was some corrosion inside the connector on 3-4 pins in the middle. I cleaned it out but nothing changed. Makes me wonder how that got like that. Where is the fuse for internal video at?

There's a hand-drawn schematics of fuses on A3x series by sjthinkpader somewhere on this forum...try doing a Google search for it...

God luck.
