ThinkVantage Button on Windows 7

#1 Post by oeuvre » Fri Nov 30, 2012 1:03 pm

Hey, open up notepad or your favorite text editor and throw the following text in, save as a .reg file:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IBM\TPHOTKEY\8001]
"File"="C:\\path to program.exe"

For those with the older Access IBM button, use this:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IBM\TPHOTKEY\8001]
"File"="C:\\path to program.exe"
"DispName"="Access IBM"

Hope this helps. I set mine to open Notepad++
1GHz PIII, 256MB, NVIDIA MX440, HD, 98SE
Dell Latitude E7440, i5, 8GB, Intel HD4400, 256GB SSD, 7
i7 6700K, 32GB, NVIDIA GTX 745, 256GB M.2 SSD + HD, 10

My button launches Lenovo ThinkVantage Toolbox since I installed it on Win7. It's nice to have the option to remap it, though.
