sleep issue??? please help!

#1 Post by jbar2016 » Thu Jan 28, 2016 8:12 am

hey my thinkpad seems to have developed a slight issue and I need a little help.

so my system is an L412
core i3
6gb
320gb
win. 7 pro 64 bit

recently i have noticed when my system goes to sleep that the power and sleep lights rapidly flash and the cpu fan spins to full speed before it beeps and shuts off. doesn't seem to happen every time "unless in windows 10, then it does it everytime. in sleep and shutdown..."
anyway I'm asking about windows 7, i posted on Lenovo forums but that's like a ghost town...

any help..
thanks

I have had sleep issues with most Thinkpads.

I don't know what to do to fix your problem or my problems.

Mine is set up to sleep when the lid is closed, Rapid Resume is turned on. When closing the lid, it sleeps. For awhile. Then it goes into hibernation all by itself. Sometimes it doesn't sleep and I have to push the Fn F4 keys.

Settings and ports have all been checked. I've been through the usual checklists for these problems but nothing ever solves them.

You may as well get used to it. It probably won't ever stop doing whatever it's doing.

Its not a big deal to me as long as the motherboard isnt crapping out on me, i havnt noticed the system not go into standby, just that issue before it stands by. I know in an earlier bios version some thinkpads wouldnt standby but i heard a bios update fixes that.

I have noticed that my system will do the standby/shut down beep then it begins flashing and spins the fan
