Where are the windows 'themes' located

#1 Post by cadillacmike68 » Sat Apr 25, 2020 4:49 pm

I want to copy over a theme with the black screens and "think" in white letters with the red dot over the "i" to another system. Where does ms hide that stuff, and will it work with the boot up and shut down sequences?

It's still a ThinkPad - same machine in fact with the build that came with it which I backed up and restored to another HDD. But it has that silly ms blue screen with the flower vines, etc.... bleh.

From Microsoft:

The default themes are stored in "C:\Windows\resources\Themes". The other .themepack files, the moment you run then, they're extracted and stored in this location:

%localappdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Themes

You mean you also want the black Think wallpaper to show up on the login screen? You have to edit the registry for that once you have the image.

Here's a website that shows you what to do. https://www.howtogeek.com/112110/how-to ... windows-7/

Yes, that's what I want. I'll look into this. Thanks.
