Install problem

#1 Post by Roger206 » Thu Aug 13, 2020 4:49 am

I am trying to install Win 7 from a DVD on to a T60. The hard drive is 500mb and is clean and formatted NTFS. The install proceeds through the Country and Language selection and then I get an error message "Load Driver. A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing" Having researched this error online, it seems to be related to an install from a USB drive and all the fixes are for that. I am not using a USB drive, so am a bit perplexed as to how to proceed.

Probably a faulty DVD. Is this a factory pressed Win 7 DVD, or one burned from a download image? If the later, is it re-writable or not. Sometimes it's especially hard to get a re-writable disk to be read properly. On an unrelated note, 500mb is much to small a HDD to install Windows 7 onto. You must have meant 500GB.

Yes 500Gb!
The DVD is a factory pressed one.

The T60 has the T5600 processor and I am attempting to install Win 7 64 bit version.
