Drivers or T60p with FireGL 5250? Anyone get it to work?

Has anyone been able to get Windows 7 to work on a t60p with ATI firegl 5250 chips? I can't for the life of me get the vista drivers to install and enable hardware acceleration. Am I just out of luck for now and have to wait for new drivers eventually?

Have you already tried ATI desktop drivers for Vista modded by MobilityModder? The Radeon ones or the FireGL ones may indeed work under Windows 7.

btw, just tried the Mobility Modder technique and it worked great. For future reference for others, I have a 2613-CTO T60p with a FireGL 5250 ATI card and I did the following:

1. went to www.driverheaven.net and downloaded Mobility Modder
2. downloaded Catalyst 8.12 from ATI
3. extracted the catalyst driver (start the install but only let it extract the driver, then cancel it)
4. applied mobility modder to the extracted driver
5. installed driver as per usual

I actually used the drivers on the t60p software and driver matrix on the lenovo website. The vista driver installed and works just fine without any modification for me. I wonder what the difference is that mine installed ok, but yours did not.

Some do it for performance reasons, others do it because the drivers available from Lenovo are quite outdated compared to the releases from ATI/AMD.

EDIT: Third do it because they didn´t have luck with the ones provided from Lenovo and fourth do it because it makes them feel more geeky

I installed W7 64 on my T60P with Core 2 Duo. On the Windows Update, it downloaded and installed the driver for the ATI FireGL V5200 chip set.

It does not work correctly with my Schwab StreetSmart Pro software however.

How about using a modded driver? Right now I´m using modded FireGL driver for Vista x64 and Photoshop x64 uses gpu acceleration without problems. I also tried to mod and install the corresponding Radeon driver, it mods without problems (I think), but when installing, it quits at some point popping up an error message that the CCC version and the driver version don´t match. I didn´t try installing only the Radeon driver though (with CCC excluded)... The 3DMark06 performance is not as good as it was with Vista. The difference is about 50 marks (1620 against 1577). I´ll post some more on that subject later.
