Virtual CD/DVD software

#1 Post by coldfire » Wed Jan 14, 2009 1:23 am

Anyone can recommend a virtual CD/DVD software that is compatible with Windows 7 x64?

Daemon Tools: will not install at all
Virtual CloneDrive: while it is active, any access to the virtual Drive after a recovery from sleep will definitely freeze the explorer. Restart is the only solution.

Thanks,

VirtualCD v9 has a trial you can try out (no freeware unfortunately), but their drivers work probably on every possible Windows ;)
IBM Lenovo Z61p | 15.4'' WUXGA | Intel Core 2 Duo T7400 2x 2.16GHz | 4 GB Kingston HyperX | Hitachi 7K500 500 GB + WD 1TB (USB) | ATI Mobility FireGL V5200 | ThinkPad Atheros a/b/g | Analog Devices AD1981HD | Win 7 x86 + ArchLinux 2009.08 x64 (number crunching)

Alcohol 52% Free Edition 1.9.8.7117 FE is also a no-go
(also admitted by the Alcohol folks themselves: http://forum.alcohol-soft.com/index.php ... ntry140605 )

DAEMON Tools Lite v4.30.3 32/64 Bits (with SPTD 1.56) also has issues

PowerISO 4.3, on the other hand, works just fine
