Windows 7 beta

#1 Post by laughingtonto » Wed Jan 14, 2009 6:50 pm

I've loaded Windows 7 beta on an X301 and everything seems to be working except for:

Presentation Director
Qualcomm 3G drivers for mobile broadband

Anyone else running Windows 7 beta? Any issues with ThinkVantage components?

I'm running it on my T60 and I seem to be experiencing a problem with the fingerprint software since doing a fresh re-install the other day. It crashes every time I open it. I am attempting to find a solution to this as I like to logon via fingerprint, mainly because I can.

Is your CD/DVD drive running ok? I've installed both clean and as upgrade to WinVista Ultimate 64-bit, and my DVD doesn't work afterwards.

Yes, my DVD drive continues to work fine (X301).

My combo drive (DVD-ROM/CD-RW) works fine.

Fingerprint still not working.

I removed the software and uninstalled the device and drivers.

I am going to reboot and reinstall the software and see if that does the trick.

It's funny really, I had it working in the previous install just fine.

Ahh the joys of beta testing huh? Oh well, I enjoy this type of stuff anyway.
