headphone problem

okay here is my problem. when i play music using the internal speakers in the computer i can hear everything, everything is working okay.
when i insert headphone the audio is no longer working. when i insert into the jack any other speakers, the audio is no longer working. however the bios beep when the computer restarts is still detectable so i know that the jack is working but that this is a software issue.
how do i fix this?

just if anybody has the same problem. this was solved by installing lenovo audio driver.
