Z61t with Windows 7 - 64

#1 Post by billp117 » Sat Jan 31, 2009 3:36 am

I installed Windows 7 - 32 with very little trouble. I then installed windows 7 -64 and immediately found that I had no Webcam and a BSOD within minutes.

I reinstalled Windows 7 - 32 and will try that OS for a while. It has been rock solid on my T43.

I wonder how much of a difference there is between the z60t and z61t. I cannot, for the life of me get Windows 7 on my z60t. It will just hang during installation. if I upgrade from vista it hangs at "copying files" if i do a clean install it hangs at "expanding files"...
I must have tried like 10 times and the result i always the same...
Did you have any of these issues installing the 32bit version?

The Z60t can be a Celeron or higher. But, it is not a Core2Duo...it is a CoreDuo. It will only run Windows 7-32. The Z61t high end models have a Cor2Duo which can support Windows 7-64. Perhaps someone else can add to this subject.

My guess is you should try installing the 32 bit version.
