Z60t - No Sound

#1 Post by Wireless » Thu Feb 12, 2009 3:20 am

Hi All,

I have been successfully running W7b for some time now but I can't get any sound from my machine. It seems the only recognised sound driver is that for SPDIF High Definition Audio Device. All well and good for using an external DAC but I just want to use the regular built in speakers, mic etc.

Anyone else had this problem and found a solution...?

TIA,

W

a trivial question, but did you install Lenovo System Interface driver?
IBM Lenovo Z61p | 15.4'' WUXGA | Intel Core 2 Duo T7400 2x 2.16GHz | 4 GB Kingston HyperX | Hitachi 7K500 500 GB + WD 1TB (USB) | ATI Mobility FireGL V5200 | ThinkPad Atheros a/b/g | Analog Devices AD1981HD | Win 7 x86 + ArchLinux 2009.08 x64 (number crunching)

Have you installed the following?

Audio driver for Windows Vista - ThinkPad R60, R60e, T60, T60p, X60, X60s, X60 Tablet, Z61e, Z61m, Z61p, Z61t

Check the readme file, but normally you have to download the driver, then double-click on it to extract it to your hard drive. You should find setup.exe in a subfolder of C:\DRIVERS\WIN\. Double-click on setup.exe to install the driver.
