I had the same problem. My workaround was to clean-install XP or Vista, install the Sierra driver, and then upgrade with Windows 7.

For the record, I'm having the same problem with my T60 and the 5720 card. I've tried everything, but can't get the card to work. Since I have a dual boot system, it does work in XP.
I'm hoping either Sierra or MS comes up with a fix for this issue.

My T61 and Windows 7 also can't load the MC5725 driver.

Apparently windows is not recognizing the Sierra network adapter as a network device. When it adds it adds as an "other device" and the Win 7 Beta driver download won't take.

It simply shows as a device without a driver. And I can't find a way to manually add the device correctly in win7.

And you are correct, in my dual boot system it works perfectly well with XP but won't load with
Win 7.

I use Sierra Wireless 3G Watcher successfully in Windows 7 with my Sierra Wireless 881 AirCard.

Just an idea. What if you uninstall the device in Device Manager, and uninstall any related software you may have already installed, then install Sierra Wireless 3G Watcher from SAFE MODE, then reboot?

I am beginning to think that it is a problem with the MC5720AC.msi installer package. It apparently won't extract properly. I have tried it from the command prompt and with an extractor package and it won't separate itself into the files we need.

The Beta Windows 7 driver worked for me on my MC5725.
