Edited:
well- now it's not working .. but it was for me earlier- ah well...

if anyone cares- registry file i put together below- if not, a mod can delete this...
I'm baffled...

Put this in a .reg file, and merge it after installing the latest Vista drivers:

Code: Select all

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IBM\TPHOTKEY]
@="C:\\Program Files\\Lenovo\\HOTKEY"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IBM\TPHOTKEY\MGR]
@=""
"AC_FUNCTION"=dword:00010001

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IBM\TPHOTKEY\EXEC]
"0101F000"="C:\\Program Files\\Lenovo\\HOTKEY\\TPONSCR.exe"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Lenovo\ProdCenter\Client\HotkeyClass0]
@=""
"LPDLLNAME"="C:\\Program Files\\Lenovo\\HOTKEY\\virtfn_0.dll"
"LPDLLSpecVersion"="2.00"
"LPDLLVersion"="1.02"
"LPDLLVCVersion"="6"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Lenovo\TPHOTKEY]
@="C:\\Program Files\\Lenovo\\HOTKEY"
"AvayaDLL"="C:\\Program Files\\Lenovo\\HOTKEY\\tpavaya.dll"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"TPHOTKEY"="C:\\Program Files\\Lenovo\\HOTKEY\\TPOSDSVC.exe"

Hot Key issues in Win 7

I seems that after installing the Hotkey drivers the Fnc f5 works for a period of time and then for unknown reasons it will no lonker work. Another install of the drivers brings it back to life. This is a on / off again issue that I've been having ever since installing Win 7 7100.
I believe when installing programs, not sure which, cause the aforementioned issue.

Anyone with a fix, please fill use in.

One additional issue that I have taken noe of is, when installing a driver or doing whatever, I can see that all work has been completed, however, the little Win 7 thing-y continues to spin for maybe 30 additional seconds before leting us know that the work is finished...... What is this hang up about ?

Best to one and all, Steve

Lenovo is supposed to be coming out with a series of Windows 7 drivers including hotkey shortly. Your best best is probably just to wait it out a week or two.
Take a chill pill ;).

You could try my workaround in post #6 of this thread. It's been working for me without fail since May 11.
