which Windows 7 version?

#1 Post by eosme » Mon Jun 15, 2009 10:55 am

i'm thinking about installing the x64 version onto my x200; which will be coming today.. :banana:

so, can anyone tell me which version is the most current? i got a 7100 RC version, but not sure if that's the latest one.

also, is there a sticky on how to properly install win7 on x200, like a verified steps on how to get it done through usb?

thanks~

7231 should be the most recent build, unofficial one though.
USB install, first result on Google: http://kurtsh.spaces.live.com/blog/cns! ... 1665.entry

from the Win7RC, i got the 7100 version, but can't find the 7231.

also, thanks for the link.. i'm going to check up on that. i've never installed an OS using usb drive.. so a bit nervous. the last laptop i bought was Toshiba Portege 7010CT when it first came out. this is my 2nd laptop in my life. lol...

Your nearest dungeon of piracy (torrent trackers). 7232 made out today, but for x64 DVD, only 2729 seems to be out.

On the outside not much, but internally about a month and half of bugfixes. There are rumours that final version could be compiled in a few days.

I wouldn't expect any upgrade options until you pay for a retail version, if then.
Collection = T500 - R400 - X300 - X200 - T61 (14" WXGA+) - T61 (14.1" SXGA+) - T60 (15" SXGA+) - X40 - T43p - T43 - T42p - A30P - 600E

Upgrades between pre-release versions haven't been supported so far but they actually work pretty much fine with small hacks. I'd expect upgrading to RTM to work as well, but it isn't supported and could cause problems.
