PowerManager for Windows 7: Problem with non-English system?

#1 Post by tinue » Tue Aug 18, 2009 3:01 pm

Hello

There is a Windows 7 compatible Power Manager on Lonovo's Website (http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... .html#powm). Initially I installed in onto my X61s with Windows 7 English version. I noticed that I also got a "Gadget" which can be installed on the desktop (I selected "add gadget" or "Gadgets", I can't remember, on the desktop and found it in the list of available Gadgets).

Later a performed a reinstall, this time with the German Windows 7. Power Manager still works, but I don't see the gadget anymore. It is not a translation issue, because the raw material for the gadget is visible in the Power Mnager installation package for all languages.

Does anyone know how to activate this thingy?

Thanks! Martin

I don't know how to get it if it's not there. However I can tell you that I have a German Windows 7 (RTM) with the Power Manager from the Lenovo's Windows 7 BETA page and I do have the gadget. To make sure we're talking about the same thing: it's a black gadget with a green battery gauge and a slider/combo box to change the active power scheme.

Maybe you should try uninstalling the Power Manager, rebooting and installing it again? The gadget should be there - that's a fact.
