Huawei E170 and Access Connections

#1 Post by carlisle_united » Tue Sep 08, 2009 11:43 am

Hi

Im using Win 7 on my T43 and it works like a charm.
Im curently use a Huawei E170 as my Mobile broadband and
I wonder if theres any way that I can get Access Connections
to show the mobile broadbands connection the same way it
does with wifi.

Thanks in advance

I had it working with my Sierra Wireless WWAN card before, but saw no advantage in it, so I don't have it setup anymore.

You can find out pretty quick if it should work. Begin by creating a new connection, i.e.: Locations > Create New Profile.... For the box > 2. Type of network connection: on the drop down menu choose: Wireless WAN (at the bottom of the list). If your Huawei card shows up in the box > 3., it will probably work. Name the profile in box > 1. and click next.

I got there as well but what Im looking for is the access conections icon to show how good reception I have, just like it does with wifi... All I get now is a green blob.

It just tells me that I am connected.

Not a huge problem but it would be nice if it would work.
