X300 and Windows 7 - microphone not working?

#1 Post by mrbofus » Wed Sep 23, 2009 10:14 pm

I've done a clean install of Windows 7 on my X300; everything works great, except my microphone doesn't work. Sound works, and my microphone is recognized under Control Panel -> Sound -> Recording; there's a green checkmark on Microphone. Skype recognizes the microphone, but it doesn't seem to record any sound. The level meters in both the Sound control panel and in Skype don't fluctuate at all. And the Skype test call doesn't record any sound either, nor can anyone hear me.

Has anyone else had similar issues? Does anyone have any ideas on a solution? Any help is much appreciated; thank you!!!

Download Vista drivers (file name is 7ta213ww) from Lenovo website. Install, then MANUALLY change the current audio driver and point it to search in the directory into which youhave installed the new Lenovo drivers. After restart - mic works.

That does work, thanks! For other readers, by install, pyntront mean extract the files; don't run the installer itself after extracting the files.
