4GB RAM in T4x under Win 7?

#1 Post by Matt » Thu Oct 01, 2009 9:16 am

Appears that all 32-bit versions of Win 7 support up to 4GB of memory. Does that mean it's now possible to load up a T4x with 2x2GB? Or is 2x1GB a hardware limitation?

It's a hardware limitation.

I believe all 4GB shows up in Windows 7 as it does in Vista, but you're still limited to the a little over 3GB of memory. It's a limit imposed by all 32 bit OSes to the best of my knowledge, which I have to say isn't all that great.

I tried installing 4GB on x60s. Windows recognized that 4GB was installed but stated that only 3GB was accessible. Needless to say I returned one of the 2GB modules.
