Win7x64 T61p Device Manager

#1 Post by ccb056 » Tue Oct 27, 2009 4:37 pm

I've done a fresh install of Win7 Pro x64 on my T61p.

Shown here is my Device Manager screen...... http://images.computerbb.org/device_man ... 7_t61p.png

Any ideas as to what the two 'Base System Device's are?

Also, here is a link to software drivers I have installed:

I have the same problem. While researching the problem I found others with this seem to point to the memory card/ smart card driver. I hope to find an answer.

I am in the same boat. Windows 7 Professional x64 clean install on a T61p 6459-CTO. I have those two errors plus an unknown device. System Update 4 doesn't think it has any more work to do.
Other than these problems, I am really pleased.

The Ricoh Multi Card driver from the Lenovo Windows 7 Beta driver site:

fixed my two Base Device driver errors.

I still have an Unknown Device.
Fingerprint driver? I'll do some poking around.

Thanks barrywohl, for the find.

I don't think its fingerprint related. I'm using the built-in windows 7 driver with no problem. Your's is probably also.
BTW, the company who makes that software has a package ($19 Paypal) that provides more functionality than the stock. I like that you can create 'vaults' to store documents. Plus the reader seems more responsive than before (for me).

My unknown device turned out to be the Wireless USB adapter driver. I couldn't find a Windows 7 driver for it so I installed this generic Windows 2000, XP, Vista driver and it fixed the device manager report of unknown device. I haven't really tried the device.
