HELP! Verizon built in WWAN in T400 - how to make work?

#1 Post by masterbeat » Wed Nov 04, 2009 5:36 pm

Sorry if this has been posted somewhere else but I can't find any help on the subject, other than a few postings back for Win 7 beta. I now have Win 7 (clean new install) running on T400 beautifully. Used new System Update 4 to get all latest drivers, and it installed the "Qualcomm USB Ethernet" driver as (apparently) the driver for the BUILT IN Verizon WWAN in the system.

But now what? I can't vind a VZAccess Verizon Access Manager on Verizon that works, none are listed as compatible with Thinkpad, the Lenovo site seems to completely avoid the subject in upgrading or installing Win 7 other than pointing to the driver.

Do I have to install Access Connections? I saw other posts where people said to leave it out and that Win 7 includes ability to access WWAN's natively - but how?

I can't seem to find how to make the Verizon WWAN an option to connect to in Win 7, and I'd like to avoid Access Connections.

What am I missing?

Thanks!

I ended up just using Access Connections, but it seems to work a bit better than it ever did in Vista.
