Onscreen brightness/audio indicators: What driver?

#1 Post by Synthetickiller » Fri Jan 08, 2010 12:31 pm

I did a full reinstall of win 7 onto a new hdd and I have all of the drivers working properly, but I cannot find the driver for onscreen indicators of brightness and audio. I know it exists. I have done this before on an SL500, but can't seem to find it this time around.

Lenovo System Interface Driver
Power Management Driver
Hotkey Utility

Make sure all (3) are installed. By the way, this question has been asked here at least twice a week for several years. The forum search function can't be that bad?

I already have all 3 drivers installed.

Still no on screen display for either function....

I"m a little perplexed. I may have to see what I did on the other laptop since it's working here.

If you are using a T61p, what do you use to get the drivers? I tried System Update, but that did not give me the new version of Access connections. Should i use the driver matrix instead and pick a different system that has win7 already?

Well it seems that System Update does not update your machine if you are running Win7. I had to update all the drivers myself from the website. I believe that system update will work for the newer machines that have Win7 built in, unless i was doing something wrong.

Are you using the version 4...? It grabbed the drivers for my X41T, the brightness adjustment doesn't seem to work through (guess it's an ACPI or compatibility issue for older boxes).

yep, that is the version that i am using. I was able to get the updated drivers from lenovo, via download, and they are working great. they do seem different though, they are all in a black box instead of the green bars that appear
