Multiburner with a fresh install

What are you guys using to burn DVD's and CDs?
My machine (T61p) WAS vista but it was a downgraded to XP load. Should I reformat with a set of vista recovery CD's then upgrade or what?
I have NOTHING here that seems to run and see my drive.
T60p/x32/t42p/a31p and about 100 more 8)
