Desktop background
Desktop background
Hello,
I have a netbook running windows 7 starter edition and I can not find ANY way to change my desktop background, I see the option to set an image as the background but it just won't change.
Thanks
Bill

Re: Desktop background
It's by design. There are some ways to change it via edits of the registry and third pary programs. If you don't want to do that then you have to upgrade.williamgeorgegardner wrote:Hello,

Re: Desktop background
IMO, its not worth tinkering with. The problem with netbooks is immediately one tries to make it into their regular notebook. Change desktop wallpaper, add programs, etc. Then one wonders why its so slow, so add memory, add SSD, etc. Finally decide to upgrade Windows from Starter to a higher version. Add the cost up and might as well have bought a regular notebook. Use it for what its designed for (browsing the Net and light very light office work and checking emails when traveling or out and about). I went through all this and within a week returned it beause the cost/benefit was just not there for what I overexpected from it.
