Help: How can I switch WIN 7 from 32Bit to 64Bit?

#1 Post by kkyoung » Sun May 23, 2010 10:29 am

Hi all, I got my T410s with switchable graphics couple days ago and now I want to change my Win 7 32Bit operating system to WIN 7 64Bit. Except buying a new Win 7, what are my options? Can I ask Lenovo for Win7 64Bit? If I recover the system, will I get a choice of 32Bit or 64Bit? Thank you for your help.

Yes you can buy Win 7 64bit from Lenovo for that machine, however you do not also get Win 7 32bit in the same set. It's one or the other. Here's a cheaper alternative, although I do not see T410s specifically listed, you can contact them and ask.

Thank you Harry :D
I visit the website and I see Win 7 64Bit for all model. Do you happen to know whether this DVD is the recovery disc that includes all T410s drivers and other Tp softwares? because I don't find a model number as T410s...

I saw the same set there and I do not know what is on it. Give them a call tomorrow.

I have the W7 64-bit recovery DVDs and they are:

#1- Operating System Recovery Disc

#2- Applications and Drivers Recovery Disc

So far they are working just fine with my T400. As for the T410s I am not sure. When installed all the Thinkvantage software is there along with Roxio Business Creator and Norton Software. I deleted both of these in favor of lighter on the resources apps.

Good luck.

No. You get which ever type the system came installed with.

Cheers,

Thanks to all of you :D
I will contact Lenovo supporting center tomorrow. I actually asked on-line sales people but they told me I can't get Win 7 64Bit if I didn't choose it when I purchased my tp...
