Bluetooth not working after clean install to Windows 7

#1 Post by roumancesoireee » Wed Jul 07, 2010 12:43 am

I just clean installed my T61 to Windows 7 with an Upgrade disk. I was downloading the drivers from Lenovo's website and I came across:

Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software II for Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit), Vista (32-bit, 64-bit) - ThinkPad

I downloaded the driver and tried to install it, however, during installation a message popped up telling me that "No Bluetooth Device was detected. Please make sure your Bluetooth Device is plugged in properly to continue installation" and then it forces me to quit the installation.

Under device management I don't see my Bluetooth device and I cannot find it when I try the Add Device option.

Please help!

I think I ran into this when putting 7 on my X60. Try pressing Fn + F5 to turn on the Bluetooth chip via hardware. If you see the indicator light come on, then Windows should automatically detect the chip and let you install the driver/software.

And if that doesn't work, try enabling it in the bios, if there is an option to do so.

Thanks guys solved! I couldn't use Fn+F5 initially because I didn't install the hotkeys utilities.
