Done&Top: Win 7 (64bit), Printserver (linksys) & HP LJ6MP

#1 Post by friedrich-eugen » Sun Aug 15, 2010 12:20 pm

Hello,

I'm looking (hopefully) for some help:

(1) Problem: My T60P, OS Windows 7 64bit, does see my "old" printserver Linksys WPS54GU2, but I do not succeed in printing on my HP Laserjet 6MP, which is connected via parallel Port.

(2) I tried to follow some (obviously incomplete or at least for my understanding incomplete) advice from www, but up to now I did not succeed. It is probable, that I missed one of the small switches, that make the difference...

Did anyone have the same problem and was capable of solving it without ripping of all "old" hardware?

Thanks in advance for any help or links or manual...

Thanks Harryc,

that will guide me ...

I did not understand up to now, that I would have to install the printer simply as a local printer and only as a second step change the access, port ("Anschluss") to a network address. Eventially there will be some trial and error still until I get all those choices checked, that are appropriate...

I'll report back (tonight probably)..

Thanks HarryC,

Your link helped. I still had to repeat the procedure several times, until i managed to take the right "turns" while installing, but it worked and works perfectly.

"See" You ...
