(I am posting this to Win 7 because it is a new problem for me with that OS; didn't happen with XP. Let me know if this is still the wrong forum)
Just upgraded to Win 7 last week (hardware: T61 on a Type 2505 docking station / port replicator; 1 external monitor via the 2505). Now, every time I "warm" dock - hibernate system, then undock - the laptop becomes very very slow, and any clicking on the task bar causes an error that "Windows Explorer has Crashed." I have to hard-boot to do anything from there - can't even bring up the Task Manager via ctrl-alt-del.
This always worked fine with exactly the same hardware when I had XP installed: use docked computer, hibernate, undock, restore, use un-docked computer - repeat as necessary, sometimes for weeks without rebooting. Now I have to hard boot nearly every day because this causes freeze-ups.
Any familiarity with this issue? Any recommendations on getting on and off the dock without a full shutdown/startup cycle?
Hot/"warm" docking T61 on Type 2505 causes crash?
