Keyboard acting strange

When I type on the keyboard of my thinkpad, I get jumping and improper letters. Sometimes, it writes in places other than I try. Does anyone know of a solution?

this is a touchpad issue, i've seen it on a T42 running Windows 7. if you've already got the correct navpad drivers installed try a free utility called touchfreeze, it locks the touchpad while you're typing:
