subfolder strife
Another Windows 7 niggle... In Windows Explorer, if you double-click on an item with subfolders, it will get kicked down to the bottom of the folder tree view (left pane), effectively hiding all the subfolders that you double-clicked on the parent folder to see! Is there any way around this (other than clicking on the miniscule arrow beside parent folders)?

Re: subfolder strife
I don't bump many things, but I'm going to bump this. Does anyone have any idea about this? Is there a setting I can change to alter this behaviour (XP didn't do this!). Thanks.

Re: subfolder strife
This does not happen to me, but then again I do not have any long folder trees. I think 2 or 3 sub-folders deep is the longest I have.

Re: subfolder strife
Most of the comments here and here seem to experience what I do--that when you expand a folder, said folder moves to the bottom of the pane and the subfolders disappear from sight. For the record, this happened with my x201 from the date of delivery (i.e., factory install of W7).
Edit: you can also look here and here for more users who experience the same behaviour.

Re: subfolder strife
Sorry, missed this thread when first raised ...
I don't seem to get that behaviour at all. Explorer works pretty much as I would expect. I have amended some of the settings, so that may explain it.
Settings as follows,
Explorer > Tools > Folder Options > General Tab > Navigation Pane
Show All Folders - Unticked
Automatically Expand to current folder - Ticked
Not sure if I altered any options in the Advanced Settings of the View tab, sorry.

Re: subfolder strife
It doesn't happen on any of my Win 7 systems (which include both clean installations and in-place upgrades from Vista).Paul Unger wrote:Is there any way around this (other than clicking on the miniscule arrow beside parent folders)?
