Loaded latest version of Skype on a T61 Windows7 Pro 64 bit and not a problem.
Loaded latest version of Skype on a T400 Windows7 Pro 64 bit and the laptop freezes; Ctl/Alt/Delete does nothing. Must turn power off and reboot. Have tried:
Using an older version
Setting Compatibility mode
Running as Administrator
Firewall off
MSE off
Each time Skype was uninstalled and %appdata% used to delete the Skype folder BEFORE the next attempt.
Have tried numerous times with differing options but get the same result. Get to the sign in screen, enter ID and PW, hit enter and the unit freezes.
What is different about the T400?
Win7 behaves differently on T61 and on T400

Re: Win7 behaves differently on T61 and on T400
Not sure, Skype also works fine on my T500 with Win7ulti64bit.
Have you tried running any cleaners? Clearing temp files, junk files, cache, cookies and anything else? Ccleaner, Easycleaner, and Advanced System care are 3 free ones I use, I just do not use the registry nor the defrag settings on either one.
Also what AV are you using, Have you ran any scan recently?

Ran EasyCleaner and Advanced System Care; both found lots to do but it didn't help, unit still freezes at log in.
I do appreciate the help.

Re: Win7 behaves differently on T61 and on T400
Hi RR*....
I am not sure what version of skype ,,,, but I/WE ONLY use Win8x64 on all (our) my TPs ,,,, and here is weRE WE install it from:
Business Version
Often most of the TEAM Members always have Skype on Video+Voice connected from all parts/points of the world. ALWAYS ON !!!
Only MAJOR issue(s) we seem to have is the "camera quailty" built into the Tps , they very a lot even within the same model#s ---- and LeNOvo swears they all the "SAME" . We seem to think that they are often mixed - 1.3 to 0.3MP camera in T&W series machine................and most of them "SUCK" compared to others !
Hope this of some help...
Cheers
