I have a Lenovo ThinkPad T500 (2089-A53) that I've installed Windows 7 Enterprise x64 (an image) using Microsoft's MDT.
Following the OS installation the builtin OS video driver for the Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family defaults to a screen resolution of 1024x768. As a result the desktop is not using the entire T500 screen. The laptop's recommended setting is 1680x1050.
Now we can set this manually and when done everything looks and works fine, however, we need to automate this to 1680x1050.
In the past under Windows XP some of the Lenovo provided video drivers supported an install switch named -RES, where we could set the desired screen resolution, i.e. SETUP.EXE -s -res 1680x1050x32x60. This -res switch does not appear to be suppored with the x64 driver for the above mentioned Intel video driver. It simply ignores it and installs the Lenovo video driver but still at 1024x768.
Has anyone experienced this and if so how were you able to resolve?
Thank you!!
