Outdated: Windows 7 Pro on X60 Servicepack 1 followed by bluescreen

Hello

I refurbished an X60 (T2400) and did have it run smoothly with Windows 7, all Lenovo- Software and drivers installed.

During/end of the update of Service pack 1 the machine "changed behavior" showed a blue screen (driverproblem, Powermangement ?) giving a 0x0...9f (power stats failure) error.

It started restarting and did not stop doing so...

Any hints ? Thanks in advance

Just a hunch, but do you have the SATA controller set for AHCI or Compatibility? Maybe just try reversing it (I highly doubt it's the issue given that win 7 has the drivers built in but it's worth a shot).

I have had stranger things happen.

The BSOD occurs on start up?

I had to download drivers for AHCI for both my X60s and my T60p for Windows 7, so I would definitely check and make sure you're set for Compatibility until you can install the AHCI drivers.

Hello brian10161,

the blue screen did occur, while working on/with the machine, just as blue screens tend to do, all of a sudden.

The systemboard does have a (physical) problem, as it does not load batteries, but up to than it worked flawlessly with a battery loaded externally and it worked properly on "Netzteil". Now it keeps starting, bluescreen and restarting only to reenter a blue screen a little later.

It said that a driver, concerning Powermangement (or similar) was not working properly. Before I could take it down, restart followed. I noticed, that starting took a long time and closing down the machine even longer...

Windows Update and Lenovos update do not show any missing drivers/updates. I did not try "repair" of Windows 7, an option shown on startup, if You use F1 following the Lenovoscreen and then revert to F8, offering several repairstrategies.

Hello mpcook,

I have the controller set for AHCI since first installing Windows 7, never said anything... I'll try that, but I do not see the connection to anything around powermangement.

Thanks to You both
