Impossible to use the windows 7 recovery disk

#1 Post by veloce » Fri Oct 07, 2011 9:11 am

On my Lenovo X220 with windows 7 64b, i created the recovery DVD to be able to boot with it to have the possibility to restore the system from a backup HDD.
I use an external USB DVD reader.
OK for the DVD creation, but when i boot from it, with the backup HDD connected to be ready to use the backup, it start with "Windows is loading files..." and let me the choice for the OS language and keyboard (french for me) and say just after : "this version of system recovery options in not compatible with the version of windows you are trying to repair .Try using a recovery disc that is compatible with this version of windows ."

I don't understand, as i created my backup with THIS windows, and created the DVD with THIS windows ! what is wrong ? :banghead:
X220, i7, screen changed to IPS, HDD changed to SSD 160GB, WWAN Ericsson F5521gw (to be removed to put a mSATA SSD)
